Delivering Rich-Media Experiences Across Multiple Platforms: New Opportunities for Content Creators
Jim Guerard, Vice President Product Management Web and Video, Adobe Systems Inc.

Reaching audiences and consumers used to mean publishing print ads, broadcasting TV commercials, or airing ads and talk shows on radio. For filmmakers, reaching audiences meant raising funds to produce a movie and signing on with a major movie studio or film distributor. Today, this is far from the case. The Internet has become a major vehicle for news, information, sports, weather, advertising and entertainment, as have mobile phones and other devices. Using affordable desktop tools, broadcasters, filmmakers and corporations have the ability to reach wider audiences with customized, specific messages and information. They can create content and distribute them over the Internet or via mobile devices to an audience of millions. Podcasters can easily broadcast their creations and interact with listeners on the 'net. Today, content creators are blending interactive and broadcast design, audio, video, online gaming, and more to deliver rich-media experiences across multiple platforms- interactive applications for web, mobile, and other online experiences. Their media- and platform-agnostic work is becoming the norm, not the exception, opening an array of exciting opportunities for content creators.
