Mobile Entertainment: UFA and Masters of Maya

This presentation shows the creation of content, graphics and technology of the first multi-player trading card game "Master of Maya." This includes an illustration of the games´ unique selling points for both the mobile network providers and the end users. The business model will be discussed, as well as the planned marketing measures and the intended target group.

Gerrit Wahle has been working for UFA Film & TV Production, market leader for TV production, since the beginning of 2000. Before working for UFA, he worked for an audit and management consulting company, PricewaterhouseCoopers, in Dusseldorf. At UFA, he began his career as an assistant to the board of directors before, in 2002, moving to the Business Development & Strategy division. In July 2003 he became head of the division. As Head of Business Development & Strategy, he is responsible for the identification and development of new business models. He advises and supports the UFA management in the development of company strategy.

Since 1999, when Michael Rueger left his normal linear life as a TV-& Advertising-Producer, he has lived for Interactive-Media. For Production Studios, Ad-Agencies und other international Media Companies, he develops and produces Interactive-, and Mobile Entertainment, like Interactive-Movies, Mobile-Applications (e.g. Mobile-Movies), Machinimas and of course, Games for all platforms.
Michael lectures at the Filmacademy Ludwigsburg, the German Film- und TV Academy (DFFB, Berlin), the Hamburg Media School (HMS) and the Bavarian Academy for Advertising & Marketing (BAW, Munich).

Concept and Developer

The UFA Film & TV Production GmbH is the holding company of all German production activities by FremantleMedia, the RTL Group’s international production business. UFA is the prominent content vendor in Germany: with a German market share of approximately 16% of 2.500 programme hours broadcasted per year. They also have a multitude of different producers specialising in certain categories who produce for all German broadcasters. UFA Television Production, UFA Entertainment, GRUNDY Light Entertainment, Grundy UFA, Phoenix Film and teamWorx all belong to UFA.
