Philip Hunt, Creative Director, studio aka

Studio aka Partner & Director Philip Hunt will present a recent retrospective of the studios work and talk through a selection of work that explains how aka’s creative work process is undertaken etc. focusing on our approach to character design and how we apply what we do within the world of commercials and fast turnaround projects.

Under Philip's Creative Direction, London animation house Studio aka has developed into a world-class company known for its creative excellence and innovative approach to projects. A Graduate of the Royal College of Art, Philip's Directing work includes the multi-award winning short film "Ah Pook Is Here" - an interpretation of recordings by the late William S. Burroughs - and an eclectic range of commercials, including spots for ORANGE, TIME, DYSON and BMW. More recently, along with his Partners Pam Dennis & Sue Goffe, he executive produced Studio aka Director Marc Craste’s BAFTA winning short animation: "Jojo In The Stars". Currently he is working with Both Marc and new aka Director Ben Bocquelet on film projects at studio aka.

STUDIO AKA is a London based animation studio considered one of the most creative and imaginative in the world. They have won countless accolades including D&AD, Clio, BTA and BAA awards for their work and in 2004 they were recognised with the animation BAFTA for Marc Craste's "Jo Jo in the Stars". STUDIO AKA represents a talent base of thirty directors, artists, technical and production staff engaged in creating original & outstanding animation in both 2d, and 3D CGI for commercial, broadcast and online media. Perhaps what describes them best is their ability to constantly reinvent themselves in response to both the changing expectations of the commercial marketplace, and what creatively inspires them.
