The Sony Special: VFX for "Monster House"

Animation supervisor Troy Saliba discusses the animation challenges and triumphs of supervising “Monster House” (Columbia Pictures, 2006) a unique blend of character driven artist animation and digital data acquired from a performance capture stage.

Since joining Sony Pictures Imageworks in 2001, Troy Saliba has worked on "Stuart Little 2", winner of the VES Award (Visual Effects Society) in 2003 for Best Character Animation in an Animated Motion Picture, as well as the company’s first CG short film "The ChubbChubbs", which won an Academy Award ® for Best Animated Short Film. Currently, Saliba is in production as animation supervisor on the animated feature film "Monster House", which utilizes the proprietary Imagemotion™ performance-capture technology developed by Imageworks.
