Digital Cinema: "Klang der Ewigkeit" - Visualising Johann Sebastian Bach´s "Mass in b-Minor"

In this presentation Bastian Clevé will show excerpts from some of his earlier work from the 70s and 80s which used in-camera-editing and optical printing. Together with Martin Kuhnert he will present his latest motion-picture "Klang der Ewigkeit" which visualizes Johann Sebastian Bach´s "mass in b-minor" by use of HD and CGI. Both will discuss the connection between music and image.

Bastian Clevé received several awards, among others the "Deutscher Filmpreis" in 1976, 1978 and 1979. He was executive producer of "So weit die Füsse tragen" (feature film), has written and published numerous books on film industry and written, directed and produced "Klang der Ewigkeit". He is professor at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, and is leading the "production" program of studies.

During his time at school, Martin Kuhnert produced numerous various shorts. He then worked as an industrial photographer and freelance cameraman. He studied film and media at the Filmakademie, Baden-Wuerttemberg until 1995. Since then, he has been working as a cameraman for image and advertising productions, as well as cutter and postproduction supervisor. He is also a Colorist and Compositing Artist.
