Digital Cinema: Film restauration

This presentation will focus on audiovisual industry and artistic creation and digital technology as well as artistic creation seen in respect to the profitability of a broadcaster.

Since 2004, Jean Luc Desmond has been head of Atelier Vidéographie//Animation. He looks after the development of the artistic realization and works on the structural extension and development of the studio. As well as the traditional strengths of tv show credits and the digital editing of pictures/effects, the production has moved more strongly towards animation and special effects for motion pictures and other fiction projects of the group.

Since 1982, Atelier Vidéographie/Animation makes the graphic conception and realization for the television channel "France 3", part of the public group of television channels, France television. Although the studio does a lot of work for France 3, there are constant inquiries from French and European partners and co-producers. The studio covers a large range of tasks e.g.: credits for tv programmes, computer animations, special effects for fiction and documentary films, animated films (paint, checking compositing), adverts, billboards, cartoons, film restoration...

France Télévisions is the strongest French audiovisual group with stable ratings of 40%. It has approximately 8700 employees and a turnover (for 2004) of 2,670 million Euros.
