Sound and Images: Music for Games

In this presentation we will consider the relationship between sound and images in several fields such as art installation, cinema, video games and interactive media. Through several examples we will consider both the nature of the relation between images and sounds, the design and composition process as well as the technical constraints.

Cécile le Prado is a Composer and lives and works in Paris. Since 1996 Cécile has been associate professor in the multimedia department of the CNAM (Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers), furthermore she is a member of the research laboratory CEDRIC and is in charge of the department "Sound and Music Design" at the graduate school of Games and Interactive Media (ENJMIN). Since 1995 she works periodically with IRCAM (Research and Coordination Institut for Acoustic and Music) in the fields of training, production and research in 3D sound.
