15 Years Filmakademie - New Films
Agnieszka Kruczek/, Frederik Ring/, Ilija Brunck/, Thomas Bracht/, Tim Weimann/, Martin Rahmlow/

In the "15 Years Filmakademie - New Films" the Institute of Animation, Visual Effects and Digital Postproduction of the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg will show a selection of new films. Even though mainly finished in 2006 these films have already received several invitations to international festivals, such as SIGGRAPH 2006 CAF, ANNECY 2006, SICAF 2006 and the ATHEN`S Filmfestival in Ohio. The following films will be shown:

Agnieszka Kruczek graduated in “multimedia-design” at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hannover. Since 2001 she works as a freelancer 3D-artist for several short and feature film productions and commercials ( “Back to Gaya” feature film by Holger Tappe und Lenard Krahwinkel, “Fallen” short film by Peter Kaboth, commercials for “Jaegermeister Mast AG”). She also realised the two films “Trugbild” and Wojna“.
Since 2004 she studies Animationsfilm at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg.

After his University-Entrance Diploma in 1998 Frederik Ring has fulfilled his one year alternative civilian service. After this he was working as salaried flame-artist from 1999 till 2001. Then he startet his studies of Animation at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. With his diploma flash animation "Dachau bei München" he graduated in 2006 and is currently working freelance on commercials and image films.

Frederik Ring

Between 1999 and 2003, Ilija Brunck works in the design department of the GFT AG Afterwards he works as a freelancer 3D-artist on several short movie productions like “Agujero” (feature film, director: Philipp Stennert), “The World Is Yours“ (shortmovie, director: Marc Hartmann) and various commercial productions (“Tour Chrono 2004” – commercial, Schokolade Filmproduktion; “Altes Haus mit neuem Leben” – film for trade fair, Schokolade Filmproduktion; et al.). In 2004, Ilija Brunck takes up his studies in animation at the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg and in the course of this realises the two films “Der Macher und der Steinewerfer” (short film) and “Jangwa!” (short film).

Thomas Bracht`s German High School diploma in Bruehl was followed by an internship and education as “Media Designer AV” at “Step-Ani-Motion GmbH” in Cologne. During that time he worked on different projects for German Television and industry customers. Projects ranged from scientific visualisations to small commercials. He also did some animations for a German News-Broadcast and weather forecast. After finishing his apprenticeship he studied Theatre-, Movie- and TV-science at the university of Cologne for one year. In October 2000 he started his studies at the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg in the animation class. Besides from working on different projects in his studies, he occasionally worked as a freelance 3D-Artist and Character Rigger during that time. In April 2005 he concluded his studies of film and media with the diploma of Filmakademie.

Thomas Bracht

After his High School Diploma in 1996 Tim Weimann started an internship as Cell-Animator at "Honk Animation" Bielefeld. In 1997 he was employed as 3D-Animator at "Das Werk AG" in Munich and later in Düsseldorf, where worked on several national and international feature films. In October 2000 he started his studies for Animation at the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, which he finished in January 2005 with the diploma for Animation. Alongside his studies, he worked as a freelance Character Animator and Animation Director, mainly for German commercials and music clips.

Tim Weimann

From 1996 to 1998 Martin Rahmlow studied art&graphics at the Kunstschule Alsterdamm in Hamburg, before he startet his studies at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. In the basic study years he worked in traditional animation media:drawings and
stop motion. For the last three and a half years he worked on his graduation film "Aal im Schädel"("Eels").
